Although it’s probably not the healthiest of habits, one of our favorite past-times and most common methods of unwinding after a long day at work is to plop down in front of our couch and switch on the Netflix.  One of these days, I’m going to do a big post on the technology that gets used in our house, but for the purposes of this post at least, you should know that Netflix streaming on our PS3 is probably the single most often used technology we have in our house.

To be completely honest, there are some drawbacks to Netflix. For starters, their on-demand streaming library isn’t the greatest. Because of the entertainment industry being what it is and all the different backroom deals that movie studios make with distributors in order to make the most money, naturally, Netflix isn’t going to be the first to get movies as they come out to DVD/Blueray/whatever the new medium will be in the future since the studios want to maximize sales before they release titles to mass distributors like Netflix. However, that isn’t to say they don’t already have a lot of great movies and TV shows to watch. Our instant queue is almost 80 titles deep with movies or TV shows that we’ve tagged to view for later consumption and that list is slowly growing with every passing day :) They might not have the blockbusters that we’re looking for sometimes, but if you need something to watch while you’re all stretched out and vegging on the couch after a day filled with paperwork and screaming children, this is as good as it gets baby.

I know, I know, this is starting to sound like a Netflix commercial (although I really wouldn’t mind a sponsorship deal with them if it came down to it :P) so I’ll cut the free advertisement short here. But getting back to the original point of this post, what do you all watch on the television together?

Back in my college days, one of my pet peeves was to watch couples go to the gym together. I used to watch in disgust as couples who were clearly more interested in keeping each other company than working out would move from machine to machine, flirting and laughing all the while maintaining the guise of athletic interest. In retrospect, I suppose my feelings originated more from jealousy than anything else since once I started dating Yoojin, going to the gym together became one of our favorite things to do together, ha ha!

Over the last few years, Yoojin and I have been to the gym hundreds of times together and we’ve learned a thing or two in the process. It really isn’t a matter of boasting and it definitely isn’t because we’re ga ga, head over heels in love with each other 24/7 even at the gym. It’s been a lot of trial and error and we’d like to share some of the insights we made in doing such a seemingly individual activity twogether. Here are my top three tips for working out twogether.

*DISCLAIMER* The following post by no means is a measure of my masculinity or the lack thereof.  It is merely an indicator of how strongly I feel about this subject.  Now that this is clear, please, carry on :)

Earlier this week, Yoojin and I saw this video from storycorp.org and, at the risk of sounding like a complete and utter sap, it kinda sorta made me do what we call the “ugly” cry.  You know, the kind of cry where you scrunch up your face and become temporarily and exponentially uglier than you were before :P  But I swear, it was only for a second before I regained my composure and my masculinity and it was only because I realized I was crying more than my wife.  Ha ha!

Not that anyone is reading this blog yet (in fact as of today, almost no one other than me and my wife have visited this blog according to Google Analytics :P) but I’m writing this post not only as an exercise of trying to record my thoughts on digital pen and paper, but also for posterity and those so desperate for reading material that they have dredged the so-far shallow bottom of our fair little blog :) And so for those of you reading now, hello and salutations.

For Starters…

I guess the first thing that you should know about this site is that this is not our first attempt at starting this blog.
